Conceptual Art what is it?
Conceptual Art is art in which the concept, or idea, behind it is more important than the artistic media used to make it. Conceptual artists tend to think of the idea first, and then find a way of creating it. This means it can be made from just about anything, and these often push the boundaries of what is acceptable.

Marcel Duchamp, only a few artists can claim having changed the course of art history in the way that Marcel Duchamp did. Having assimilated the lessons of Cubism and Futurism (which I found to be very interesting types of art after I started researching into conceptual art) whose joint influence may be felt in his early paintings. Duchamp spearheaded the American Dada movement with his friend and collaborators, by challenging the very notion of what art is.
Duchamp is generally considered to be the father of Conceptual art.

Dustin Yellin
Dustin is a contemporary artist living in Brooklyn, New York. He is best known for sculptural paintings that use multiple layers of glass, each covered in detailed imagery, to create a single intricate, three-dimensional collage. His work is notable both for its massive scale and its fantastic, dystopian themes. The reason I like his work is because of his technique, it is very unique and interesting using layers of resin to create the art, later on in his career he started using glass instead of resin as it is toxic and very dangerous to use. Another aspect I like is he’s subject matter. His early work is a phantasmagoric extension of the taxonomic art of the 19th century, focusing on otherworldly mutations of living things, especially plants and insects. |

Whilst in Manchester I decided to visit the Manchester Art museum, as I am studding Conceptual Art. I came across two photograph exhibition that I found very interesting.
The first exhibition is the collection of photographs taken by Sergio Larrain he was a street photographer. I liked his use of leading lines, the Dutch tilt and the subjects he has chosen to capture, his photographs really tell's a story about the time, place and what society was like.

The next exhibition I found very interesting is a collection of photographs taken by Axel Hutte.
His photographs were of nocturnal American cityscapes and landscape photography. I like his use of symmetry there is a real beauty to his vision and his photographs are very pleasing to the eye.
